By downloading, installing, or using the Stake Mates application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Stake Mates is a goal-tracking and accountability app that allows users to set personal goals, track habits, and engage in friendly challenges with other users. The App includes an honor-based staking system for motivation purposes.
3. Honor-Based Stakes Disclaimer
IMPORTANT: All stakes within Stake Mates are strictly honor-based and for motivational purposes only.
- No real money is exchanged, wagered, or transacted through the App.
- The "balance" and "stakes" shown in the App are virtual, gamified elements designed to enhance motivation and accountability.
- Stake Mates does not facilitate, process, or mediate any real financial transactions between users.
- Users are solely responsible for any arrangements made outside the App.
- Stake Mates is not a gambling platform and should not be used as one.
4. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the App.
- One person may only maintain one account.
5. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
- Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
- Attempt to manipulate check-ins, streaks, or other app metrics dishonestly
- Use automated systems or bots to interact with the App
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or infrastructure
6. Content
- You retain ownership of content you create (goals, check-in photos, comments).
- By posting content, you grant Stake Mates a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content within the App.
- We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
- Some features may require a paid subscription.
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms.
- Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings.
- Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy.
8. Intellectual Property
The Stake Mates name, logo, and all related designs, text, graphics, and software are the property of Stake Mates and are protected by intellectual property laws.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
- Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stake Mates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
